Bud Light Just Debuted a New Lemonade-Infused Lager

As you wait out the coronavirus threat from the comforts of our couches, you’re likely in need of some non-toilet paper related supplies like food, binge-able Netflix shows, and booze. The latter is admittedly at the top of my own list.

And while drinking to-go cocktails and delivery wine are certainly ways to get through long days of working from home (maybe save it for after hours, though, OK?), Bud Light’s latest offering, a light lager brewed with real lemon peels, is definitely worth a quick trip to your local liquor store. Just don’t forget to practice social distancing while there.

Joining the company’s other fruit-forward creations, Bud Light Lime and Bud Light Orange, the latest variant is now available in slim 12oz or 25oz cans. You can get Bud Light Lemonade cases or opt for a 12-can variety pack with the other flavors. According to a spokesperson for the company, the 4.2% ABV brew is made with real lemonade and has already made its way to store shelves.

If the lager innovation sounds familiar, it’s likely because Anheuser-Busch dropped a similar beer last year: Bud Light Lemon Tea. But don’t confuse the two. The key difference is that the new Lemonade isn’t aged over black tea leaves.

A Splash of Lemon

Summer’s well on its way—hey, we’re almost halfway through March!—and this new citrusy flavor of Bud Light ensures your booze is as refreshing as it is tasty. The packaging describes it as a “premium light lager brewed with real lemon peels,” and an alcohol volume of 4.9%. No word on the calorie count yet, but we’re pretty sure we’ll be sipping on it no matter what that number is. The cans are bright yellow because, honestly, what other color can would a lemony beer have?

We definitely think this’d go down smooth with some hot dogs, burgers or just about anything on the grill—and maybe even a summery party, too. Feeling inspired? Check out these grilling recipes you’ve gotta try, then plan the perfect backyard bash.

Where Can I Buy It?

Budweiser hasn’t actually given any official word about this drink yet, but it’s started showing up in liquor stores around the country, so it might be worth calling around to see if any of your local shops have gotten it yet. Bud Light Lemonade is available in 12-ounce and 25-ounce cans. If you’d like a few more options to choose from, you can also pick it up in a variety pack that includes Bud Light Orange and Bud Light Lime, too.

TRULY Lemonade Mix Pack vs. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Variety Pack (review)

It feels as though hard seltzers were all the rage in 2019 and 2020, but what about in 2021? According to two of the biggest brands hard seltzer brands on the market, it seems like they’re here to stay. The question I have is which brand makes the better Lemonade pack: TRULY or Bud Light Seltzer?

Which is the Best Lemonade Hard Seltzer?

Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Variety Pack Review

Just a few weeks ago, the Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Variety Pack arrived in grocery stores nationwide and I knew I had to try them out. I grabbed myself a pack at my local Dierbergs, turned on my camera, and reviewed them for my YouTube channel.

TRULY Lemonade Mix Pack Review

Similar to my previous video, I decided to review the TRULY Lemonade Mix Pack on my YouTube video but with a comparison to their competitor Bud Light Seltzer. Both packs feature Original Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, and Black Cherry Lemonade, as well as one flavor different from the other.

Which Lemonade Pack is Better?

All in all, as I already stated in the above video, both packs are great. I do feel as though TRULY’s flavors are a bit better, but I wouldn’t be upset if you handed me one pack over the other. I think both brands are going to do well this summer when temperatures start to heat up. Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy a few of these refreshing hard seltzers with friends, not-so-socially-distanced.

The Ingredients In Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Vs. Bud Light Seltzer

Although the names may be confusing, neither drink has beer in it. (But if beer and lemonade is your jam, try Bud Light Lemonade.) Bud Light Seltzer is made from natural fruit flavors, sparkling water, and cane sugar. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade starts off with the same ingredients, but then gets its bolder flavor from brewed lemonade. Thanks to a five-step filtration process, neither seltzer will leave you with a lingering aftertaste.

How Much Sugar Is In Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Vs. Bud Light Seltzer?

Both Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade and Bud Light Seltzer boast less than 1 gram of sugar in 12-ounce cans. That’s a little less than White Claw and Truly cans of the same size, at 2 grams and 1 gram, respectively.

What Flavors Do Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade And Bud Light Seltzer Come In?

Both drinks are available in fruity and citrus flavors. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade is available in Original, Black Cherry, Strawberry, and Peach. Bud Light Seltzer comes in Grapefruit, Cranberry, Pineapple, Strawberry, Lemon Lime, Black Cherry, and Mango. Luckily, both are available in variety packs for when you can’t make up your mind.

How Much Alcohol Is In Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade Vs. Bud Light Lemonade?

Both beverages contain 5% ABV, which is the same as Truly and White Claw.

budweiser

Budweiser (/ˈbʌdwzər/) is an American-style pale lager produced by Anheuser-Busch, part of AB InBev.[1]

Internationally, Budweiser may also refer to an unrelated pale lager beer, originating in České Budějovice, Czech Republic (historically Budweis) produced by the Budějovický Budvar brewery. The parallel existence of two separate brands with the same name has given rise to a series of trademark disputes. Usually, either Anheuser-Busch or Budějovický Budvar are granted the exclusive use of the Budweiser name in a given market. Anheuser-Busch commonly uses the Bud brand for its beer when Budweiser is not available.

Introduced in 1876 by Carl Conrad & Co. of St. Louis, Missouri,[2] Budweiser has become one of the largest-selling beers in the United States. The lager is available in over 80 countries, though not under the Budweiser name where Anheuser-Busch does not own the trademark. Budweiser is a filtered beer, available on draft and in bottles and cans, made (unlike the Czech lager) with up to 30% rice in addition to the hops and barley malt used by all lagers.[3]
