Hey guys! We return with an amazing topic about Food & beverage in solsarin. This is “Ambrosia Salad with cool Whip” which is really interesting. I suggest you to stay along with us and tell us your comments.
Ambrosia salad is a popular dish in Greece that is made from fresh, seasonal ingredients. The name ambrosia derives from the Greek word ambrosia, which means “food of the gods.” Ambrosia salads are typically made with layers of different fruits and vegetables, and are often served as a dessert or snack.
Ambrosia salad recipe with with cool whip, fruit and marshmallows is the perfect for your upcoming picnic. Kid friendly with just the right amount of sweet, this is a classic recipe that will remind you of what grandma used to make! The mandarin oranges, pineapple and sweet maraschino cherries make such a fun and festive and fresh fruit salad!
It’s so easy to get caught up with side salads during the spring. Salads remind everyone of summer and healthy food and picnics. And it’s true, I do love me some cucumber tomato feta salad, Caprese, and even zesty Italian pasta salad pretty much any day of the week.
But I always remember ambrosia salad for all the holidays as well.
I have eaten this throw back, traditional, and old fashioned recipe every Thanksgiving and every Christmas as long as I can remember. Between that and Watergate salad, it was a real treat for us as kids.
So while the adults started on all the turkey and ham, we ran to the other side of the table for the marshmallows, fluffs, and cool whip combined with fruit!
Classic ambrosia salad is often up to the maker, from J-ello and sour cream additives to the original pistachio and Watergate salad feel, its an old fashioned salad rooted in huge pot lucks that you would find at your church.
A traditional Southern holiday dish, I love ambrosia mainly because of the creamy Cool Whip. And it’s true that Ambrosia “salad” is more of a dessert than a salad but I try to convince myself the fruits make it “healthy.” (P.S. It’s not meant to be healthy).
Also, in this simple Ambrosia fruit salad recipe, I leave the traditional plain whipped topping in the recipe, but I have also used the Birthday Cake Cool Whip (as shown in the video) and its SO GOOD!!
So if you see flavored cool whips out due to the season, feel free to branch out on that. The birthday cake cool whip is slightly pink too which is a lot of fun and gives a soft pink hue to the dessert.
Strawberries : Strawberries are a delicious and nutritious fruit that can be enjoyed any time of year. Although they are low in sugar compared to other fruits, strawberries contain antioxidants and other beneficial nutrients that can protect the body against disease. Strawberries are also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium.
Peaches : Picking peaches is one of the most rewarding summertime experiences. The juicy fruit is a source of vitamins and minerals, and can be eaten fresh or used in cooking. There are many types of peaches, including clingstone, freestone, and pie varieties.
Apples : Apples are one of the most popular fruits in the world. The apple tree is a hardy and long-lived plant, and apples can be eaten fresh or dried. There are a variety of different types of apples, including Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Rome, Jonathan Appleseed, and Braeburn.
Green grapes : Most people think of grapes as red, but green grapes are also a popular type of fruit. They have a slightly different flavour than their red counterparts, and they’re often eaten as a snack or in salads.
Cherries : Cherries are a type of fruit that is popular all over the world. They are usually eaten fresh, but they can also be used in food recipes. There are different types of cherries, including tart, sweet, and sour. Some people like to eat them plain, while others prefer to add them to their favourite desserts or meals.
These are optional ingredients that you can mix with the fruit and marshmallows. You can add chopped pecans, chopped walnuts, and/or sweetened shredded coconut to your Cool Whip Fruit Salad. I’ve gotten some salty comments from people who insist that an Ambrosia Fruit Salad recipe must include shredded coconut, but these people can talk to the hand.
Step 1. Using a colander or sieve, drain as much of the liquid from the oranges, cherries, and pineapple as you can. Keep the oranges separate from the other fruit because you are going to mix them in last.
Step 2. In a large bowl, mix together Cool Whip and sour cream. Mix in food coloring if you are using it.
Step 3. Carefully fold in the marshmallows, pineapples, and cherries. Fold in mandarin oranges last because they are the most delicate and prone to fall apart.
Step 4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Most Ambrosia Salad recipes have a combination of fruit, cool whip, and sour cream. Some variations as to which fruit do exist from recipe to recipe. Other Ambrosia Salads call for nuts and yogurt. Our recipe uses marshmallows, Cool Whip, sour cream, coconut flakes, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries, and pineapple tidbits.
This simple fruit salad is so yummy. I have served it many times, and it’s always one of the first dishes to go. Fat-free vanilla yogurt also works well as the dressing. —Sherry Hulsman of Louisville, Kentucky
