thank you for choosing us.

Something that’s clogged is blocked or stopped up. When your sink is clogged, the soapy water can’t flow down the drain. If your gutters are clogged with leaves, rain water will simply flow and drip over the edges, and if your arteries become clogged, you’ll be at a higher risk for having a heart attack.

Beside this, how do you clear a blocked water pipe?

Make your own unclogging mixture out of household supplies.

  1. Start by pouring a pot of boiling water down your drain.
  2. After you do this, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Follow this with a solution of 1 cup vinegar and 1 cup very hot water.

Also Know, why does my drain keep clogging? Most bathroom drain clogs result when dirt, skin flakes, and especially hair binds to soap scum on the walls of drain pipes. Over time, this gunk accumulates and reduces water flow. Next, try using the humble drain plunger, keeping in mind to block the over-flow drain in the tub or sink.

In both cases, the clogged things need to be cleared or cleaned out in order to work properly. Another way something can be clogged is to be clotted or thickened: “I don’t like this oatmeal because the pieces are all clogged together.”

Water Clogging on the Road

It is a common phenomenon that we very after falling into a jam on the roads and streets. Sometimes, especially in the rainy season water remains stagnant on the road even for 2/3 days which causes a serious traffic jam. The cause of their water clogging is purely mismanagement in the case of the drainage system. Owing to this traffic jam people suffer miserably. They face great difficulty to go to their respective destinations. They have to go on foot even. Water remains logged on the road from 1 to 1.5 feet. The rain gets intensified with dust, mud, etc. Most of the time the drainage system is not active and it becomes troublesome for the passers-by.

The pedestrians face a lot of problems as they cannot move freely and most of the time their clothes get wet with water and dirt with mud. This water-logging becomes a burden for the inhabitants of Dhaka City and creating adverse social, physical, economic and environmental impacts. Disruption of traffic movement and normal life; damage of structures and infrastructure; destruction of vegetation and aquatic habitats; loss of income potentials are the encountered effects of water-logging on city life. School-Going kids suffer a lot. The office goers cannot reach their respective destinations in time because of the water logging and traffic jam.

Water Clogging on the Road

Children and women are the worst sufferers who cannot cross the water logging area easily. Chittagong is known as the commercial capital of Bangladesh. The residents of different areas of Chittagong are very familiar with the problem of water logging during the rainy season. A moderate to heavy rainfall is enough to inundate main roads, lanes, and by-lanes of both old and new parts of the city. As a major economic zone, its economy hampers a lot during the rainy season. We think that the drainage system should be activated and city authorities should be careful in this respect.

Changes in Water Pressure and Water Flow

When the water pressure and, thus, water flow start to change quickly, it is a sure sign that something is wrong in your home’s drainage system. Usually, these issues arise from a clog that inhibits the water flow through the blockage. But, cracking or breakage in the water line where the water can easily escape out is also a cause possibility. When you notice any changes in the actual amount of water coming from your faucet or showerhead, or even the see a change in the speed or force in which the water comes out, there is a very high chance that your pipes are clogged somewhere down the line. Your first priority is to find where the actual spot of the clog has occurred and found a repair specialist who can help fix the clog before the problems worsen beyond repair.

water Backs Up in Odd Places

When you flush your toilet, does the water in the nearby shower or tub drain start to gurgle? If so, there is a clog that has blocked the water flow in your home. Usually, the water then backs up to the lowest point and this is most of the time a shower drain.

But, what if the shower drain or toilet starts to overflow when you start to run the washing machine? This is also the cause of a clog somewhere in your home’s sewage line. The water is trying to leave, however, a clog is blocking it and so the water is forced to go to another place.

The same issue can arise if the water in your toilet begins to rise or bubble up. A clog is the main explanation here as well.

Cleaning Your Pipes

Clogs can be cleared in a number of ways including a mechanical “snake” which is inserted into the pipe with the intention of breaking up the obstruction, and hydro-jetting which employs a high pressure stream of water to break through any blockages and clean out the pipe, kind of like pressure washing, but for the inside of your pipes. Snakes work best for shorter runs (50 feet or less) and for smaller diameter pipes. Hydro-jetting works better for longer distances and larger pipes, but carries the risk of doing damage to older, degraded piping systems.

Either way, breaking up a clog and clearing a pipe blockage is as much of an art as it is a science, so hire someone who is experienced with diagnosing and unclogging drains – as it will surely save you money in the long run.

Boiling Water

If you have a clog in your kitchen or bathroom drain, consider using boiling water. The water should be hot enough to dissolve any organic matter stuck in the sink. Of course, this method only works if the clog is made of organic matter and not, say, feminine products or any plastic-based items. Check this before you begin — children love to shove foreign objects down the drain for a few laughs.

  • A quick warning, however: if you have PVC pipes, do not use boiling water to remove a clog. The heat from the water may loosen the joints.
  • Furthermore, be sure to never pour boiling water onto a porcelain sink bowl, as this may cause cracks.
  • Where possible, pour the boiling water directly down the drain. If you have a kettle, pot, or funnel, use the spout to direct the flow of water.

Clogged drain causes

“Food and substances that do not break down, such as fibrous food, egg shells and non-food items,

along with grease and oil, will build up in your pipes and create a clog in your drain over time,”

James explains. Leaving a clogged drain unaddressed could even lead to attracting household pests such as drain flies so you’ll want to fix the clogged drain line issue quickly.

Also, hair can wash down the drain during showers or while washing your hair in the sink causing clogged drain lines. In addition to washing your hair, combing and cutting it over the sink will also eventually make the water drain clogged. Soap is another culprit. “Sometimes, soap itself is not a problem,

but when it is combined with hair and other substances, it can form into solid clumps, clogging your drain,” James says. “But on the other hand, many traditional bars of soap also include grease or fat, and neither should be washed down the drain.”

And according to Audrey Monell, President of Forrest Anderson Plumbing and AC,

a clogged drain pipe can also be caused by kids wanting to see their toys float on top of the water. In addition,

your drain could be clogged from flushing excessive amounts of toilet paper or flushing paper towels, tampons and other objects down the commode.

How Plumbers Fix Clogged Water Lines

Before using any of these repair methods, plumbers will check to make sure there isn’t a faulty fixture or blocked faucet aerator causing the trouble. After ascertaining that a clogged water supply pipes is the culprit, they can use these methods:

  1. Pipe removal and cleaning: The plumbers locate the pipes with the clogs and detach them from the rest of the plumbing. They then use powerful cleaners to thoroughly remove the deposits from the inside,
  2. then restore the pipe to place and test the water flow.
  3. Pipe replacement: This is the common solution for when pipe clogging has become extreme and/or the pipe is made from corroded older material. Plumbers will track down the pipes that are causing the trouble and remove them and put in new pipes, usually made of more corrosive-resistant material (copper, PEX, CPVC) and with a larger diameter to reduce water pressure.
  4. Air pressure: This is essentially the “plunger” for a water supply pipe. Plumbers attach an air hose line to the faucet affected by a local clog. They blast air pressure into the faucet, then run the water to watch for dislodged corrosion, calcite, etc.
