It’s the only spring-training ballpark to be built on tribal land and the newest facility in the Cactus League. For decades, the approach to a spring-training facility was pretty static: there was a main ballpark where games were played, maybe with a couple open fields for practices, drills and minor-league workouts. But designers of more recent spring-training facilities have walk away from this model; a new goal for architects and team management is to integrate what fans love about spring training – player access, warmer weather, a relaxed atmosphere – with the daily functionality of the complex. The HKS Sports & Entertainment Group first addressed these issues with Camelback Ranch – Glendale, which opened in 2009, and reinvented them at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick while also extending them further with some local touches. 2022 Spring Training Update
Despite its best efforts, Major League Baseball has not yet been able to reach a new collective bargaining agreement with the Major League Baseball Players Association. Due to the ongoing negotiations, MLB has notified all Clubs that it is no longer possible to play the first week of Spring Training games (February 26 – March 4) as originally scheduled. We are disappointed that we are not able to start as scheduled and apologize for the inconvenience this causes. MLB is working to get the game back on the field as quickly as possible.
If you purchased Spring Training tickets directly from the Diamondbacks or Salt River Fields, single game, mini plan, group ticket and hospitality buyers will automatically receive a refund to their original point of purchase.
Please allow 10-14 days for your refund to received. At the conclusion of the 2022 Spring Training season, season ticket holders will receive a full refund for games that weren’t played due to the ongoing negotiations.
